Guahan Flyers welcome newest member to the team. "Kupa'a Mau"

ATTENTION PADDLERS: There's a new canoe in town. She is the latest addition to our fleet, a Force-V Canoe. Named Kupa'a Mau, dressed in our signature yellow with "Donna Cruz Red" extending from the steersman's seat aft. In the presence of Mel Malloe & the Guahan Flyers, Mr. Tony Ramirez welcomed and blessed the Hawaiian Class Canoe to the waters of Guahan in a sunrise ceremony.

Upon exiting the Boat Basin Channel, Kupa'a Mau and her crew was welcomed by a large pod of dolphins and the warmth of the Hafa Adai Spirit. Always facing the ocean, she sits along side our other Force-V and the Feathers n' Fins Rocket ready for action!

Kupa'a: Steadfast, firm, immovable; loyal, faithful; constant; loyalty, firmness.

Mau: Always

"Moving the canoe on land during five o'clock traffic was a daunting task on everyone that volunteered their time to assist. Basically shutting down two lanes of Marine Drive was interesting. I really was waiting for people to drive by and flip us the bird. But in the end, I don't think the public was bothered by the move. If looks could kill." -Kev

2008 MPRA Galaide Cup-I Distance Series (10mi)

2008 OC-6 Sprint Championship

This championship race counts as a qualifier for the next Guam National Team. Anyone vying for a position on the team must satisfy three of the four qualifying events.

A great demonstration of the unified effort of our race committee and our membership. With Scott, Mel, Afshin & Carl off-island, our senior members and team leaders really stepped up and took charge! Great job to all! With a few of the expected glitches the competition remained fierce and was always a fight to the end. Great job to all the participants! Paddle hard and stay safe!
